Madden Ultimate team has hit a low for me lately. The time between Halloween and Thanksgiving normally sees a lull in the game. Experienced Madden Ultimate Team users normally just drown themselves in online head to head play but what’s there for beginners to do?
Recently I have been sinking myself into sets. Sets offer a number of valuable rewards and some are not that hard to do. About a week ago MVP sets were released into the game and have taken my attention away from game play since that date. These sets offer some of the best cards in the game right now and are worth the wait. The adrenaline from sniping cards from the auction house can only be compared to placing a winning bid in an EBay auction.
Sniping is the method of continuously searching a set of cards or a single card in hopes of getting a great deal. However, sniping requires a lot of time however and nothing is guaranteed. In order to be successful snipers you should follow a few simple rules:
- Set Sure
- This method is when users go to sets and individually search cards one by one. The advantage of this method is it’s precision. Since you are searching individually there is no reason to search by name, team, overall etc, so the process is extremely quicker than using the actual auction house
- Time Remaining
- By using time remaining you are able to get cards for cheap on the sly. Sometimes cards fly under the radar for a great deal cheaper than the regular price of the auction house you just have to bid on the item. Be careful though because often these type of auctions get into bidding wars and you can end up paying more than the actual amount for the card. The following video will describe other ways of effectively sniping cards.
- Incorporated into this method is a concept that I like to call, “playing dead.” Playing dead involves waiting until the last possible second in order to steal the bid away from the highest bidder. By doing this the game displays a message that the auction has ended but in actuality it has not. This makes the other bidders think the bidding is done ultimately awarding you the card. Some call it sneaky I call it smart.
My advice for getting the best deals is just to be patient. The cheap ones will come but you have to wait. If worse comes to worst then play a couple of games before hand and get your jitters out and then set up camp in the auction house.
